Due to remarkable technical development, lots of fancy mobile phones, which has various functions, are now distributed.

One of my major target was iPhone right after it was introduced few years ago.
Thanks to legal protection of Korean Gov. and mobile service providers' selfish judgments, it was banned to selling in Korea. There was even no chance to see iPhone in legal route.
I guess this strategy caused 'iPod Touch' high sales portion in Korean market. Korean user had to be satisfied with only Touch, not phone.

Now iPhone 3G(not even 3Gs) is finally about to be introduced in Korea within several months. However, Korean mobile service providers are still debating about WiFi elimination, one of the most important function to use iPhone. This is only reason to delay of iPhone's first landing in Korea.

Samsung is another leading mobile phone producer to show infinity of mobile phone's functions.
Few days ago HAPTIC AMOLED was introduced in Korean market. Many early-adopters can't hide their excitement.
DivX player, 35mm ear-plug connector, totally different display was big issues.

Actually AMOLED is already introduced as Jet Phone in Euro Market.
Although they looks same(because has same case), they have some few differences.

 - HAPTIC AMOLED has no WiFi, while Jet Phone has.
 - HAPTIC AMOLED has downgraded CPU and UI(using haptic UI, not touch UI), while Jet Phone does not.

Samsung is also preparing to sell Omnia 2 and Omnia HD, which has AMOLED display and WiFi.
Omnia2 would use MS OS and Omnia HD would use Symbian OS(http://www.symbian.org).
These new type phones have also unbelievable functions. Especially, Omnia HD has powerful display and multimedia player and 8M-pixel camera, but would cost about 1,600~1,700 USD!! Crazy!!

But here again, WiFi issue will be discussed before sales.

Why are service provider so sensitive to this WiFi issue? Because their paying and private closed-internet services is one of their big profit source. In Korean oligopolistic market, service provider has huge power based on governmental protection.
They don't want to give up their main profit only because of cell phone technical advances, even it's slow in high-speed internet era and user have to use only closed-web site which was totally approved by service-provider.
It's not important for them to let users use existed and distributed tech, it's only important to stabilize their earnings.

Every products has demand and supply. In capitalism, only free competition is main power to grow its economy. Of course, Korean government's legal protection was initiated to make Republic of Korea as IT-specialized country, despotism and egoism of service provider seems to have no limit.

Customers are paying a cash to use some products' useful function when they are buying them. They have rights to use products, and they have rights to choose products.
More legal protection of mobile market would only cause degeneration, which is not intended by Korean Gov.
Korean mobile market is enough to be mentioned as mature stage, and it's time to make them free to compete.
It's only way to make them real mature stage, not fake one like only one-haptic-sided mass production.
